The reason I made this page is because on my family vacation our stupid mini van, a Ford Aerostar broke down 40 miles away from the south end of the Grand Canyon.
When we left our house from Calgary, Alberta the van was working fine except for the starter but we knew that wouldn't cause us any problems. The only point of our trip was to see the Grand Canyon.
After a couple days of driveing we had noticed the transmission started slipping but we never though anything of it because in 3 years we had changed the transmission 3 times. We were wrong when we got 40 miles away from the Grand Canyon the transmission went and so we were stuck in the middle of no where.
We got hold of a cell phone and called a tow truck, he took us to a small city called Flagstaff. The macanic he brought us to decided to rip us off by by saying it would be cheaper to buy a new transmission, then he charged us 3,000 dollars Canadian for it when it is only worth 900 dollars. So we had to pay him the money because what are we going to do. After we payed the bill my family and I had no more money so we had to go all the way back home and so the trip was a complete waste.
When I got back home I found out that I wasn't the only one having problems with Ford transmissions, not only my other family members, but also all of my friends too.
